Perspective Plan and Deployment

Krishnagar Government College is under the Department of Higher Education of Government of West Bengal (WBHED) and its policies, administrative setup, appointment, service rules, and superannuation are governed by the State itself. The college is committed to follow the regulations and guidelines set forth by the UGC and the WBHED, ensuring that its practices and procedures meet the highest standards. The administrative work of the college is primarily carried out by the Principal / Officer-in-Charge, who is supported by the administrative Committees consisting of both the teaching and non-teaching staff. These committees are responsible for various aspects of college administration, such as academic affairs, students’ welfare, and infrastructure maintenance. The NSS unit of the institution organizes various activities throughout the year, including tree plantation, blood donation camp, vaccination camp etc. They work in close coordination with each other to ensure the smooth functioning of the college. To promote career advancement opportunities, Krishnagar Government College adheres to the rules and regulations of the UGC and WBHED. The conveners of different Sub-Committees are accountable for their respective activities and the Principal / Officer-in- Charge is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all aspects of college administration are carried out effectively and efficiently. Additionally, the college encourages work accountability and transparency to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the activities and decisions of the institution. Krishnagar Government College has effectively implemented its institutional strategic/perspective plan, leading to notable achievements. It facilitated a seamless transition between offline and online modes necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring a productive learning environment.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, the college has implemented various green initiatives. The installation of 10 kW solar panels in the campus, connected to the grid is one such significant initiative which helps in reducing the institution's carbon footprint. To address the paucity of pollution monitoring units in the district, Krishnagar Government College took an initiative to install the same through West Bengal Pollution Control Board, which serves as an educational tool and aids environmental measures.

Recognizing the importance of student well-being, the college formed an anti-ragging committee as part of its strategic plan, which is crucial in preventing and addressing any instances of ragging or harassment, ensuring a safe and inclusive campus environment. Besides, the Internal Complaints Committee aims to prevent, prohibit, and redress sexual harassment of female employees and students.

The college organized an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) webinar aimed to raise awareness about IPR laws, patents, copyrights, and trademarks among the college community, fostering innovation, creativity, and the protection of intellectual property.

Since more than half the student strength consists of female students, the need to set up a girls' hostel building has long been felt by the administration of this college. Finally, in the latter half of 2020-21 academic session, after the partial easing out of the strict lockdown the target of completion was achieved and the completion certificate was received on 25.03.21 from the PWD, Govt. of West Bengal.
